March 25, 2026, Florida, USA — At the International Battery Seminar & Exhibition (IBSE 2026), Tenpower officially introduced its next-generation 21700 cylindrical battery cells for Backup Battery Unit (BBU) applications: 21700-40XG1 and 21700-26XGF, expanding its portfolio for AI data center power backup solutions.
As AI computing continues to drive higher rack power density, data centers require BBU systems capable of delivering greater power, longer service life, and enhanced safety. To address these evolving requirements, Tenpower developed two complementary battery chemistries: the 21700-40XG1 (NCA) for high energy and high power performance, and the 21700-26XGF (LFP) for enhanced safety and long calendar life.
During the event, Tenpower Vice President Kiyokazu Oiyama presented “AI Data Center BBUs: LFP or NCA – Aligning Cell Chemistries with Performance Priorities,” sharing insights into the evolution of AI data center BBU systems and Tenpower’s dual-chemistry product strategy for different application priorities.
Leveraging years of expertise in high-performance cylindrical lithium battery cells, Tenpower continues to expand its solutions for demanding applications, including AI data centers, power tools, robotics, and other high-power industries. The company remains committed to delivering reliable, high-performance battery solutions for customers worldwide.
